From Underused Courtyard to Year-Round Winter Garden

The Wisconsin School of Business is transforming Grainger Hall with its most exciting addition yet—the Winter Garden, a stunning two-story, light-filled space that will enclose the building's central courtyard and create a vibrant new hub for student life. This ambitious project represents the next evolution of Grainger Hall, ensuring it continues to meet the dynamic needs of today's business students.

Designed as a mini student union specifically for Business Badgers, the Winter Garden addresses the growing demand for flexible study spaces, enhanced dining options, and areas where students can connect and collaborate. This welcoming environment will feature improved food services and a dedicated coffee house, creating the perfect backdrop for everything from casual conversations to intensive study sessions. While thoughtfully respecting Grainger Hall's established character, the Winter Garden brings modern functionality and innovation that reinforces the School of Business's unwavering commitment to student success, ensuring Grainger Hall remains the dynamic home that Business Badgers deserve.
