Honoring a Legacy

The OSU Student Union Redevelopment honors the legacy of one of the largest unions in the world while creating a fresh contemporary update born out of the involvement and expectations of current OSU students. Architectural interventions were sensitively woven into the existing Georgian architectural fabric to create a revitalized OSU Union that fits this historic campus.

Student involvement spaces were raised from a dark basement to a new light-filled Student Life Pavilion. The multi-story pavilion overlooks an informal outdoor Student Life Plaza, a flexible outdoor student programming space, which complements the formal gardens of the adjacent Library Mall.
