The Stern Student Center at the College of Charleston is undergoing a comprehensive transformation that will redefine campus life for generations of students to come. As part of the College's strategic commitment to prioritizing student experience and success, this ambitious renovation is reimagining the 76,000-square-foot facility—originally built in 1974—into a vibrant, modern hub that truly serves as the heart of campus community.

This thoughtful renovation respects the building's existing structure while introducing exciting new spaces designed around how students actually live, learn, and connect. The reimagined center will feature a dramatic double-height multipurpose space with staging capabilities for everything from campus events to game-day gatherings, alongside enhanced facilities for student organizations, fitness activities, and dining. With new collaborative spaces, outdoor landscaping, and a welcoming café, the transformed Stern Student Center will create countless opportunities for students to build relationships, pursue their interests, and make the most of their College of Charleston experience.
