Age of Inventors
Making a place look nice is easy. Defining and reflecting a unique brand demands more than styling. It requires careful listening, understanding, and consideration to create and exceed client expectations.
Chef Thomas of c.1880 came to us with a name. The name reflected the year the building was built. Nothing more. Rather than simply designing a late Victorian parlor, we dove deeper. We listened. Chef Thomas was more than a technically proficient cook. He researched. He tinkered. Eager and excited to share his discoveries with the world. It became clear to us that invention or reinvention was an important part of the menu and his philosophy.
LEAPS IN TECHNOLOGY
After researching the 1880's we discovered that the era saw leaps in technology. World travel. Theories of evolution. The birth of electricity. It was the Age of Inventors. Rather than a Victorian parlor (because his budget could not support doing that well) we decided to build an inventors workshop. Roughly constructed furniture. Utilitarian lighting. Patents on the walls. Objects of curiosity encased in jars. These materials and this design concept created a warm and inviting space giving customers their own opportunity to discover a new dining experience.
