The design process began with an exploration of the unique culture of the University of Wisconsin's smallest campus community. Students expressed a strong desire that the new center reflect the natural Lake Superior environment and support intimate social interactions that make the institution unique. To realize this vision, students committed major funds as well as time to engage in the crafting of a new student gathering place. The new student center seeks a LEED Silver certification.
